RICHMOND, Virginia - A personal visit is often the most effective means of communicating with a legislator & working toward social change. Last week, CRi invited Delegate Betsy Carr to visit a recently opened & relocated program in the Richmond area, the Nicolet Home. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss options & to educate legislators of the work that CRi does in the community & to advocate for increased funding & increases in Medicaid reimbursements in 2020.

In attendance were individuals who reside in the home, their families & CRi staff. Together, they held a conversation on how to best recruit & retain qualified & skilled staff amidst a staffing crisis in the state of Virginia. Discussions like these are a necessary part of how CRi provides top-notch care to residents. Thank you, Delegate Carr, for your time & efforts as we look toward the future of Direct Support to people with disabilities & mental health needs in our community!
