Funding in Support of People with Mental Health Needs & Developmental Disabilities in Virginia

Chantilly, Va. – January 9, 2020 – On December 18, 2019, President/CEO, Arthur M. Ginsberg, announced that CRi received $500,000 from an anonymous donor. This generous gift, from a valued local family, was received as a part of CRi’s 2019 Comfort & Joy Annual Holiday Campaign. CRi is dedicated to providing personalized supports to youth & adults with mental health needs & developmental disabilities.

Since its inception 45 years ago, CRi has served as a caring, innovative, & ethical human services nonprofit agency. As years have passed, the critical need for expansion of programs & supports has greatly evolved. This generous gift allows CRi the opportunity to provide services that might otherwise go unfunded, increased growth in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area, & Richmond, VA communities, & continues to build upon current programs, demographics, & reach.

CRi’s Vice President of Philanthropy & External Affairs, Kelsey DeWispelaere, is both enthusiastic & grateful for this gift, adding “We are so honored by this generous gift. It really is a testament to the excellent quality of care that CRi provides each day, & I am proud to be a part of an organization that means so much to families in our community. This gift will provide immeasurable opportunities for people with mental health needs & developmental disabilities & will allow for necessary supports & expansion as CRi’s needs increase.” DeWispelaere went on to add that “We are excited that this new partnership will help support our ever–increasing funding needs & provide greater opportunity for individuals with disabilities.”

CRi is dedicated to providing personalized resources to youth & adults with mental health needs and developmental disabilities. CRi accomplishes this mission by providing a full spectrum of support services, both in CRi’s homes & apartments and through community programming. Last year alone, CRi supported over 1,185 youth at-risk, women & men with mental health needs and/or developmental disabilities, and those who are or might become homeless. Incorporated in Arlington as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1975, today CRi provides supports in communities throughout Northern Virginia, Greater Richmond, & in Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, & Baltimore, Maryland.
